The Practice of Small Wonders & The Art of Gazing: A Retreat for Professionals and Caregivers
May 27, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
$110 – $165As we continue to emerge from three years of unfathomable grief and confusion– conditions that have created a mental health crisis we have never before experienced– something within us calls for deep healing. This calling is a return to an ancient spiritual practice and connection centered in the heart but activated through the senses.
The Practice of Small Wonders & The Art of Gazing is a way to re-imagine the sacredness of presence, passion and devotion.
”Imagination is more kind than the mind and it searches the edges of the unknown.” ~ John O’Donohue~
As obvious as this may seem, you would be amazed by what you no longer see. So many little things easily overlooked or missed in the haze of compassion fatigue and empathetic distress. The overwhelm is real. We all feel it. The ways we stimulate ourselves to keep going and the numbing substances we engage to slow us down and turn it all off. This is normalized contemporary life and very few of us are doing well enough to enjoy and savor the animation of our days.
We’ll be gathering at the glorious refuge of Harmony Woods for:
- The Spiritual teachings of Small Wonders and Gazing
- Restorative Mindfulness meditation
- Nature Exploration in the nearby James Slavin Conservation Nature Preserve
All materials will be provided.
A simple vegetarian luncheon is included.
This event is for in-person participation only.
Investment: $110.00 – $165.00
